Josh Frankel, CFP®, is a director of the firm and lead of West Bearing Investments, a division of Ferguson Wellman. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) and adheres to a disciplined approach and process to fully understand his clients’ goals and then provide the best financial and investment counsel. In his role at the firm, Josh works as portfolio and wealth manager with individual and institutional clients concentrated in Portland, Vancouver, Eugene, Bend, Medford, Spokane and throughout California. He possesses a range of professional experiences that enable him to provide a high level of client service and guidance on investment management and planning. Josh leads our practice management committee and is a member of the firm’s wealth management team. He is also a principal shareholder of the firm.
Prior to joining West Bearing, Josh worked as a financial advisor and retirement planning specialist for Merrill Lynch. He also gained experience in marketing and business development through his work at General Motors R*Works and EJ Gallo Winery after college. He earned his M.B.A. and B.S. degrees from the University of Oregon. While completing his undergraduate degree, he played football for the Ducks from 1996-2000.
Josh currently serves as chair emeritus for the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation and is a board member for New Avenues for Youth. He is past chair of Greater Portland Hillel and the Oregon Club of Portland. In 2017, he was recognized by the Portland Business Journal as one of Portland’s “Forty Under 40.”
Josh lives in Southwest Portland with his wife, Amy, and their three children. He enjoys coaching youth sports, running, biking and golf in his spare time.
